Varitra believes that our youth today have immense potential and power to drive a positive change in the society. Till date, Varitra has successfully built a community of more than 50 youth members who have successfully led Varitra’s initiatives on the field as teaching volunteers, peer tutors, community mobilisers and youth ambassadors for social justice.
Varitra also supports active youth through providing learning and leadership opportunities on the field and provide career path guidance to enable their personal and professional growth.
We are proud to work alongside these talented young leaders and are inspired by their support in helping Varitra build a shared space of diverse expertise and experience. We are grateful for their help in our mission to build this youth-led community to create a momentum of positive change for children and women in need. In India and around the world, we are bringing people together to end the lack of access to education and socio-economic empowerment faced by under-served communities.
Growing up in rural settings of Haryana, getting the opportunities to study in some of the best universities of our country and later experiencing social sector as young CSR Professionals are some commonalities both of us share. We are also passionate believers in the power of quality education to transform lives and families, our own included. We felt a huge gap in the way our children and youth have access to these opportunities across urban and rural India.
Due to lack of proper education, lakhs of rural children & youth, especially women, are devoid of higher education and employment opportunities leading them to face setbacks in their social, financial growth and remain highly vulnerable. With a purpose to change this scenario and follow our stubborn passion of work with the under-privileged at the very grassroots. we quit our jobs, moved to Haryana and established Varitra Foundation in January 2018.
We consider ourselves lucky that at every step, we were joined amazing bunch of people especially our youth who worked with us towards this shared mission and have today become a big family.
Along the way, we also received some great mentorship and incubation support to help us grow. Most importantly the trust showed in us by the children and communities we work with has kept the fire in us burning. We are thankful all our partners, supporters and friends without whom
