Deepak Goswami comes from a small village called Uncha Siwana in Karnal district. He completed his MSc degree and JBT from Karnal. Currently, he teaches in Government Primary School, Kutail. Every year, in the beginning of the academic year, he identifies children who have been performing below their class-level competencies. He then makes special focus groups of these children so that they can be at par with other children in terms of learning outcomes. Since his childhood, Deepak Sir always wanted to become an able leader. He wants to invoke the same thinking among his students. He often explores opportunities towards the development of the school through community involvement.Recently, he undertook a campaign to reach out to all Panchayats with low number of student enrollments in their village government school He called upon these Panchayats to come together for a rally to raise awareness and create a positive attitude towards Government Schools among the people. Along with his work as a Government School teacher, Deepak Sir is also proactively involved in social work. His focus lies on children deprived of education or those who do not have easy access to education. From the last one year, Deepak Sir has been closely associated with Varitra Foundation as an ally. He often shares how Varitra’s aim and objectives encourage him. He believes Varitra’s intervention in his school has motivated children to go beyond text-book knowledge and build exposure from the outside world. The fact that Varitra does not only work in schools with high enrollments but also with small and remote schools brings hope to him.
